Pollution Controls

Two smoke Testing Units. one in Gangtok and one in Jorethang have already been operationalised to ensure pollution control and conservation of the environment. At the time of fitness check of every vehicle, smoke test has been made mandatory. failing which no fitness certificate is being issued to tsvehicles and of surprise checks even at the time by Motor Vehicles officials, Pollution Under Control (P.U.C) certificate is demanded by the checking officials and defaulters are fined. Thus a strict check is being maintained and compliance ensured.
